After six months of the most agonizing wait in sports, the sunrise of ASU Men’s Basketball in Downtown Tempe is now one sleep away.

Coming off of a 15-18 (7-11) campaign, head coach Bobby Hurley is looking to construct his most successful season yet in Tempe, one that’s enlightened by a top-25 recruiting class and key transfers looking to make an instant impact on the court.

Although many find the Sun Devils to be one year short of making a legitimate run at conference supremacy, there are several experienced players that are looking to shave that notion, including seniors Tra Holder and Shannon Evans II.

Last season, the duo averaged 31.2 points per game in the backcourt, showing a constant proficiency to explode past their opponents and create shots off the dribble. In their final year, the two are looking to build a foundation of success that they can mirror to incoming prospects.

At Pac-12 media festivities, the Sun Devils were chosen to finish sixth in the conference, five spots higher than their preseason ranking of last season. This was the first time the Devils had broken the top half of the conference rankings since the 2010-11 season.

As the Sun Devils open up their season with Idaho State Friday, let’s take a look at how the Sun Devils fare along with their opponents in our preseason conference rankings.
