ASU football comes off their bye Saturday to face No. 5 Washington looking for a better result after losing to the Huskies 44-18 in Seattle last season.

ASU football is ready to face one of the best teams in the nation Saturday night as the Sun Devils welcome in the fifth-ranked Washington Huskies.

Arizona State is coming off a bye week after losing 34-24 at Stanford two weeks ago in which Cardinal running back Bryce Love set a school record with 301 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

The deciding factor in this game was the turnover battle as quarterback Manny Wilkins threw his first two interceptions of the season while Stanford didn’t turn the ball over.

Wilkins finished the game with a season-low 181 passing yards with the two interceptions and zero touchdown passes.

More from Devils in Detail

The running game of Arizona State had their best game of the season getting big chunks on the ground, including on many third downs, as the Sun Devils finished with 244 rushing yards as a team.

Coming into Tempe Saturday will be Washington, who enter the game 6-0 and 3-0 in Pac-12 game.

This will be Washington’s toughest test yet as they haven’t face a team of ASU’s caliber as Washington has wins versus Rutgers, Montana, Fresno State, Colorado, Oregon State and Cal.

For the fourth time in five weeks, the Sun Devils will have to limit one of the best running backs in the country as they’ll face Myles Gaskin.

Gaskin is the Huskies’ leading rusher with 582 yards and eight touchdowns as he averages 93.2 yards a game this season.

Quarterback Jake Browning has had a stellar season for Washington throwing for 1,466 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Washington’s defense is the best in the Pac-12 leading the conference in points allowed (10.2 points per game), total defense (228.8 yards per game) and rush defense (78.5 yards per game).

The Huskies are also tied for the best scoring offense in the Pac-12 averaging 43 points per game.

Arizona State will have to play a pretty flawless game in all three facets as on offense they’ll have to hold onto the ball, stop the run game defensively and kick the ball away from Dante Pettis on special teams.
