In this game, it was all about ASU’s quick start as they stormed out to a 17-7 first quarter lead causing Oregon to ditch the running game.
The ASU defense performed well limiting Oregon to just 120 rushing yards and running back Royce Freeman to 15 carries and 81 yards.
Next up for the Sun Devils is a team with another potent rushing attack, Stanford.
Running back Bryce Love was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 263 yards and one touchdown as the Cardinal rolled over UCLA 58-34.
After playing all three quarterbacks last week versus UCLA, Stanford announced Friday that K.J. Costello will get the start under center.
Costello threw 13-for-19 for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over the Bruins.
Key for Arizona State is to get off to a quick start, don’t turn over the ball and stop the Stanford rushing attack.
