ASU football play their final non-conference home game of the season Saturday when they host San Diego State as they’ll honor the late great Frank Kush.

ASU football is ready to take the field after nine days off from their season-opening win over New Mexico State last Thursday.

Arizona State will look to be more consistent Saturday versus the two-time defending Mountain West Champions San Diego State.

The Aztecs won their season opener last week 38-17 versus UC Davis in which San Diego State outgained UC Davis 513-315.

While NCAA’s all-time leading rusher Donnel Pumphrey graduated, running back Rashaad Penny didn’t skip a beat last week rushing for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

More from Devils in Detail

Aztecs quarterback Christian Chapman threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

The Sun Devils are coming off a 37-31 win over New Mexico State in which Manny Wilkins threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns and Kalen Ballage rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns.

The defense played pretty well despite no substitutions for the majority of the game as the unit finished with six sacks, eight tackles for loss, two interceptions and one touchdown.

Throughout the game Saturday, Arizona State will honor former head coach Frank Kush, who passed away over the summer at the age of 88.

The Sun Devils have brought back the ASU sunburst logo on the field and on the players’ helmets in honor of Kush.
