After going 0-4 in Pac-12 play last week, ASU baseball will look to turn the page this week beginning with a second meeting versus the UNLV Rebels Tuesday.

ASU baseball (12-18, 2-10) returns home after a four-game road trip at Arizona and California.

The Sun Devils are looking to bounce back and snap their five-game losing streak.

After the pitching staff got off to a strong start to the season, it has lagged in recent weeks with the Sun Devils outscored 53-18 on their current losing streak.

After falling to No. 7 Arizona 11-2 last Tuesday, Arizona State headed to Berkeley for a three-game series versus the Golden Bears.

Cal’s offense got to the Sun Devils pitchers early and were able to build a large enough lead in each game to prevent an ASU comeback.

The Golden Bears swept the series winning the games by a score of 9-6, 6-4 and 10-2.

In the first two games of the series, ASU came back from large deficits at the end of the game, but the early damage done by Cal was too much for Arizona State to overcome.

Coming into town Tuesday is a rematch with UNLV.

The Rebels came to Phoenix two weeks ago for a mid-week game in which Arizona State prevailed 5-4 after overcoming a 4-0 deficit.

Outfielders Gage Canning and Tyler Williams each drove in a pair of runs with Canning hitting a 2-run triple in the 2nd inning and Williams hitting a 2-run home run in the 6th inning.

Those scoring plays were sandwiched with an RBI sac fly from catcher Zach Cerbo in the 4th inning.

After starting pitcher Zach Dixon was relieved for in the 2nd inning after allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, relievers Alec Marsh and Connor Higgins combined for 7.1 scoreless innings allowing just 3 hits and striking out 7 Rebels.

Expect another pitcher by committee game in Tuesday’s game as the bullpen could receive a heavy workload.
