After dropping the first two games of the series, ASU baseball will look to win the final game of their three-game series at Cal.

ASU baseball wraps up a three-game series at Cal Sunday with the Sun Devils looking to change their fortune.

It’s been a rough series all around for Arizona State dropping the first game of the series Friday 9-6 and Saturday’s game 6-4.

The starting pitchers have really struggled combining to allow 10 runs (8 earned) putting the team in early deficits and putting pressure on the bullpen to limit the damage.

Golden Bears first baseman Andrew Vaughn has been on fire in the series hitting 5-of-7 with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and 2 walks.

On the other side, Arizona State has gotten all their runs late in games when the deficit was large showing the resiliency in this team.

After trailing 9-1 heading to the ninth inning Friday, the Sun Devils went on to score 5 runs in the final frame and on Saturday, ASU scored four unanswered runs after trailing 6-0.

Outfielders Gage Canning and Andrew Shaps have led the offensive charge for the Sun Devils combining for 8 hits and 3 RBIs in this series.

The pitching match-up for the final game of the series features Cal left-handed pitcher Matt Ladrech who’s making his fourth start of the season.

Ladrech holds a 1-0 record and 0.68 ERA with his last start coming versus Washington State on April 2 throwing 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and striking out 4 Cougars.
