ASU baseball resumes Pac-12 play Friday hosting the first of three games versus the UCLA Bruins as the Sun Devils look to pick up some conference wins.

ASU baseball look to build off Tuesday’s come-from-behind victory versus UNLV Friday as the Sun Devils host UCLA for a three-game series.

Arizona State is currently sitting with an 11-12 (1-5) record.

After losing two of three games at USC last weekend, the Sun Devils bounced back with a 5-4 win over the Rebels.

Outfielders Gage Canning and Tyler Williams each had 2 RBIs while the bullpen threw a combined 7.2 scoreless innings.

Arizona State will look to replicate Tuesday’s performance this weekend versus UCLA.

The Bruins currently sit with an 11-11 (4-2) record and is coming off a 9-7 win over No. 10 Cal State Fullerton Tuesday.

More from Devils in Detail

After trailing 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 4th inning, UCLA scored 8 runs in the inning thanks to a single, double, triple, sac fly and 2 walks.

Left fielder Brett Stephens led the Bruins with 3 RBIs while first baseman Sean Bouchard had 2 RBIs and four Bruins having 1 RBI.

UCLA is one of the hottest teams in the Pac-12 right now currently on a 5-game winning streak defeating Arizona, sweeping Cal and defeating the Titans Tuesday.

Bouchard leads the UCLA hitters leading the team in home runs (5) and RBIs (21) while also boasting a .634 slugging percentage.

The projected pitching match-up for Friday is UCLA right-hander Griffin Canning versus ASU left-hander Eli Lingos.

Canning is the ace of the Bruins pitching staff holding a 2.72 ERA and is coming off a rough outing last week at Cal.

Canning went 6.1 IP allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits, 2 walks and striking out 6 batters.

Twice this season Canning has tied his career-high of 12 strikeout doing so in back-to-back starts versus Gonzaga and Michigan in late-February and early March.

In the other dugout, Lingos is not coming off one of his best starts either only going 5 innings last week at USC allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits with a walk and 3 strikeouts.

Both pitchers will look to get off to a strong start early as both lineups pose challenges.

Arizona State will seek to have more consistency throughout the lineup like they did early in the season and Tuesday versus UNLV.
