By Sam Ficarro
After leading 4-2, ASU softball surrenders three unanswered runs leading to a 5-4 win for Oregon State preventing a Sun Devils sweep.
ASU softball entered Monday’s game with a ton of momentum after picking up a pair of run-rule victories.
On Monday, however, it was a tight game that saw Oregon State prevail 5-4 as OSU scored the game-winning run in the 7th inning on an RBI double by first baseman Natalie Hampton.
After leading 4-2 after four innings, Arizona State starter Dale Ryndak allowed a run in each of the final three innings as the Beavers secured their first Pac-12 win of the season.
Ryndak finished the game with a complete game allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits and 5 strikeouts.

It was a back-and-forth affair as Oregon State got off to a quick 2-0 lead on a 2-run single by designated player Alyssa Pelegrin.
ASU went on to score four unanswered runs scoring 2 runs in the 3rd and 4th inning.
Left fielder Brianna “Breezy” Wise began the comeback in the 3rd inning with a solo home run with center fielder Skylar McCarty’s single and OSU error allowing third baseman Taylor Becerra to score the game-tying run.
In the next inning, catcher Sashel Palacios continued her power surge hitting a 2-run home run in the 4th inning for her fourth HR of the series.
After taking a 4-2 lead heading into the 5th inning, Beavers kept pecking away the lead starting in the 5th with right fielder Shelby Weeks hitting an RBI sac fly to make it 4-3 Sun Devils.
In the 6th inning, third baseman Sammi Nolan hit an RBI double tying the game at 4 runs a piece.
ASU had their chance to regain the lead in the home-half of the inning drawing 3 walks to load the bases with 1 out.
The Sun Devils were unable to capitalize as a grounder hit by Becerra led to a force out at home plate followed by McCarty striking out.
This opened the door for Oregon State to seize the lead and they did just that.
