The ASU Baseball team (6-5) looks to get back on track against No. 11 Cal State Fullerton (5-4).
ASU baseball will continue their 12-game home stand with a two game series against Cal State Fullerton. The Sun Devils will try to bounce back after losing the last two of a three game series with Loyola Marymount.
In the second game of that series, just a strike away from winning the game, Reagan Todd gave up a RBI triple, and the Lions added another run right after, getting the 3-2 victory.
The series proved that ASU has a great one, two punch heading into any weekend series. Eli Lingos (3-0, .89) has been practically unhittable for the Devils; the lefty has only allowed 10 hits and gave up just three walks.

Spencer Van Scoyoc (0-0, 1.35) is just a freshman and doesn’t go as deep into games as Lingos, his three starts have all resulted in no decisions after the bullpen has given up his lead.
The Devils have a young bullpen that has not lived up to its potential that Tracy Smith had for them.
“We don’t feel like we have that top first-round guy coming out”, Skip said, “But what we do feel like, is that we have eight to ten guys that are all about the same, all about the same, but that being pretty good.”
Their two most used pieces, freshman Chaz Montoya (15.19) and sophomore Reagan Todd (4.66) have had trouble getting out of innings and stopping the bleeding that they may have inherited.
In the first game of the weekday series vs. Cal State Fullerton, the Sun Devils will send out Ryan Hingst (0-1, 3.72), who was a former weekend starter. His lone loss came against the number one team in the nation, TCU.
At the plate, the Sun Devils are still lead by freshman Lyle Lin who is hitting .435 with 20 hits, the freshman hasn’t let up since the first game of the season. Head Coach Tracy Smith has put Lin at either catcher or first base, just to get him in the lineup.
The lineup has also gotten a boost from CF Andrew Shaps, who sat out the first five games of the season for an undisclosed reason. In his six games, Shaps is hitting .375 with six hits.
No. 11 Cal State Fullerton will be just the second ranked team ASU will face this season (#1 TCU). It will be a big test for the Devils to compete until the end of games as they did against TCU. Arizona State will face three more ranked teams this season, all in the Pac-12 (Oregon State, #4, Arizona, #9, Stanford, #12).

For ASU to get back on track, they will need to have their starters other that Lingos and Van Scoyoc have deep outings in order for the bullpen to have favorable outings. Also the bottom of the order will need to capitalize on Lin and Shap’s hot bats.
