ASU basketball men’s team wrap up the regular season Saturday, and with a short and limited the roster, they should be proud of the season they have had.

ASU basketball men’s team is currently sitting with a 14-16 record and 7-10 in Pac-12 play. Arizona State currently sits seventh in the Pac-12 standings.

The Sun Devils have faced a tough three game homestand to end the regular season facing Final Four contenders UCLA and Arizona and versus USC.

The Sun Devils put-forth a valiant effort against the Bruins after playing with only a five man rotation for all but 80 seconds in the game.

Despite playing with only five players, Arizona State did a good job staying in the game and not letting the Bruins lead balloon to a huge lead.

More from Devils in Detail

ASU only lost to UCLA by 12 points while holding likely Top-3 NBA pick Lonzo Ball to only 4 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists.

After exhausting a lot of energy in that game, the Sun Devils came back for a quick turnaround versus USC.

After trailing 81-71 with three minutes remaining, the Sun Devils finished the game on a 12-1 run with Tra Holder draining two free throws with 6.9 seconds remaining to give ASU the victory.

In this game, all the starters played at least 33 minutes with only forwards Andre Adams and Ramon Vila playing 12 and 11 minutes respectively.

It’s amazing to see Arizona State will their way to victories with a never-give-up mantra.

This mantra reflects their head coach Bobby Hurley whose fiery and motivating leadership has taken the Sun Devils to a surprisingly successful Pac-12 season after a poor run last year.

Arizona State should be a team to be wrecked with next season as a highly-regarded recruiting class is coming in plus to add redshirt forward Romello White and Ohio State transfer Mickey Mitchell joining the fold.

While the record might not indicate success, Hurley and his team should be proud of what they achieved this season only going up from here.
