ASU baseball begins a 12-game homestand Tuesday versus New Mexico State. Sun Devils look to get back on winning track after dropping two straight at TCU.
ASU baseball is back in action for the Sun Devils Tuesday night when they host New Mexico State.
The Sun Devils are sitting at 4-3 after dropping three of their last four games versus Oklahoma State and TCU.
Arizona State was able to win the season opener at No. 1 TCU Friday winning 13-9, but went on to drop the following two games losing 8-4 Saturday and 5-2 Sunday.
ASU’s started off the series with a gem from starting pitcher Eli Lingos. In two starts, Lingos has pitched two quality starts including just 2 earned runs allowed versus the top-ranked Horned Frogs.

While Lingos is off to a great start, it’s the bats for Arizona State that has really stood out for the Sun Devils.
First baseman Carter Aldrete and catcher Lyle Lin have combined to drive in 14 of Arizona State’s 25 runs this season.
Lin also has five multi-hits games, which is by far the team’s leader in that category. The next closest Sun Devils has only two.
Coming into town is New Mexico State, who were picked to finish second in the WAC preseason coaches poll.
The Aggies currently sit at 6-3 and coming off a four-game sweep of Mount St. Mary’s where the outscored MSMU 73-10.
New Mexico State is led by outfielder/designated hitter Austin Botello.
Botello is batting .556 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs and was just named WAC Hitter of the Week after batting 15-for-23 this past weekend.
