ASU baseball is taking on No.1 ranked Texas Christian University in the second game of the three game weekend series in Fort Worth.

Last night, the Sun Devils defeated No.1 TCU 13-9. The Sun Devils got their revenge last night after the Horned Frogs knocked them out of the College World Series tournament last season.

This win has helped shape the Sun Devils after the troubling loss against Oklahoma State. With the big win over TCU, ASU is showing they will keep this series tight. A key player to look out for in the series is catcher/first baseman, Lyle Lin.

Lin had six at bats, three hits, and two RBIs in the first matchup against TCU. He has been playing like this all season and is someone to keep an eye out for. Gage Canning, the center fielder, is also a player that is showing their talent this season. He finished the game with five at bats, two runs, two hits, and one RBI.

Ryan Hingst will be the starting pitcher for the today’s game going up against Nick Lodolo. This will be Lodolo’s first appearance for TCU. Hingst will be making his second appearance on the mound for the season and this will also be his second game starting.

ASU’s confidence should be high going into tomorrow’s game because of last night’s win. Expect to see a strong offense from the Sun Devils once again as that is what powered them to victory in game one of the series.

With this being Lodolo’s first appearance, ASU needs to find a way to get to him early. They need to look for the right pitch from Lodolo and take advantage of it.
