ASU Basketball: Final Road Trip Begins at Washington
By Zach Pekale
Entering the final five games of the 2016-2017 season, ASU Basketball will play the first of its final two road games at Washington.
The ASU basketball team (12-14, 5-8) won five conference games in head coach Bobby Hurley’s first season at the helm. With a win against the Washington Huskies 9-16, 2-11), the Sun Devils would pick up their sixth PAC-12 win of the year.

The teams previously met in Tempe on Jan. 25, a game Arizona State won 86-75 behind 25 points from Shannon Evans II. Guard Markelle Fultz led Washington with 28 points, eight rebounds and nine assists which includes the final 18 points for UW down the stretch.
Fultz has been listed as a game-time decision due to a sore knee that has kept him out of his team’s previous two games. Without their star guard, the Huskies would likely turn to sophomore David Crisp to run the offense.
For the Sun Devils, the backcourt of Tra Holder, Evans and Torian Graham have taken turns showing spurts of dominance, most recently headlined by Graham’s 24 point effort in a win over Stanford on Feb. 11.
The guards of ASU are poised for a successful shooting night as they combined for 65 points in the teams’ first meeting. It will be difficult for Washington to replace Fultz’s 36 minutes per game as the Huskies have shown a lack of depth on the roster.
With a win, Arizona State can gain sole possession of seventh place in the conference as they own the tiebreak over Colorado with a head-to-head win.
