Good Recruiting Won’t be Enough for ASU Football

courtesy of: Hunter Robinson

“While the recruiting season is ramping up for the ASU football program, a good 2017 recruiting class doesn’t necessarily mean a better on-field product come September.

After receiving a commitment from 4-star running back Eno Benjamin this past weekend, the Sun Devils now have the 56th best recruiting class in the nation according to rivals.com. Even if ASU were to land five 5-star recruits before the recruitment season is up, they still won’t have the recruits to drastically improve the team.”

An article that really is very sobering for ASU football. They are going hard after trying to get a good recruiting class to fix all of the issues on the defensive side of the ball, and to add depth to the offense. Unfortunately for them, that isn’t going to happen. They need to focus on getting better as a core, and adding recruits to make the team deeper. It will be very interesting to see if ASU’s recruiting efforts pay off, or if nothing changes from the 2016 season.

Ray Anderson Busy in HIs First Three Years as AD

courtesy of: Arizona Sports

“Ray Anderson never pauses his thought as he rises to close the arcadia door dividing his corner office at the Carson Student-Athlete Center from the clatter of construction at Sun Devil Stadium. Arizona State’s Vice President for University Athletics is used to multi-tasking; adept at drowning out noise.

‘I’m feeling even more invigorated than I ever could have imagined coming into this job,” said Anderson, who was hired three years ago today. “There’s never a dull moment because we’ve got so many things happening all the time. Frankly, it’s the pace that I enjoy. I don’t like routine at all.”

A great article that is something different from the normal basketball coverage that is available on a daily basis. Anderson really has been busy since taking over as athletic director three years ago. He has hired more coaches than some do in their whole tenure as athletic director, and he seems to be loving it.

Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Power Rankings

courtesy of: Blaze Radio Sports

“Holy cow, we are to week 9 of the college basketball season. Time is flying by and teams are starting to show their true colors. Unfortunately for the Pac-12, it looks like the conference is going to be carried entirely by the top three teams; UCLA, Oregon and Arizona.

The conference of champions just does not have the depth it did last year. Well, without further ado, here is your Week nine Pac-12 Power Rankings…”

ASU’s student radio station is really making a push into 21st century radio, and producing written content is part of that initiative. A great power rankings for ASU fans who want to see their team ranked possibly a little higher than they should be. If ASU were to win a few more games, then it is very realistic that ASU could jump even higher on this list.
