Holder’s Late Free Throws Gives the Sun Devils a Win

“ASU Basketball picked up its first home Pac-12 win in thrilling fashion, edging Colorado 78-77 on two free throws by Tra Holder with 1.6 seconds left.

Through 39 minutes against Colorado, Tra Holder couldn’t buy a bucket. In the final seconds, he hit two.”

Nice to see Bobby Hurley’s squad pick up a win early in Pac-12 play. These are the games that are going to define the men’s basketball team’s season, can they win games they are supposed to win? As long as they do that, then they could find themselves in the upper half of the standings come season’s end.

More from Devils in Detail

“After playing Utah on Friday, ASU basketball will head to Boulder to face the Colorado Buffaloes. Here’s a report on Colorado on what they have done recently.

Along with Utah, the Colorado Buffaloes, under first-year head coach JR Payne, have been one of the best stories in the Pac-12.

After finishing last season 7-22 and a loss in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, Colorado has turned it around quicker than many expected and are sitting at 10-3 overall.”

This weekend will be huge for women’s basketball. If they can come away with a sweep, then they will be sitting in a good spot within the Pac-12. If they split, or somehow lose both games this weekend, then they will be looking at an uphill climb for the remainder of the season. A pivotal weekend for ASU, they play Utah on Friday and Colorado on Sunday.

Women’s Basketball Roundtable

“There are three questions that surround the women’s basketball team at the moment. What was the key to Arizona State’s turnaround from their 2-2 start, what are the keys for the Sun Devils to succeed in Pac-12 play and predictions for how the ladies will fare in the Pac-12.”

A nice slideshow to prove that Devils in Detail really does have the most comprehensive Women’s Basketball coverage out there. The coverage team did an outstanding job covering non-conference play and they are back at it as we enter the thick of in-conference play.
