After coming away with two solid wins against ranked teams and holding on to a five game winning streak, the Sun Devils head home determined to extend their streak against Oral Roberts.

The Golden Eagles are 7-4 this season and come into today’s game with a four-game winning streak of their own. Despite the wins, their last three games were home-court advantage, and their away record is 2-4 which is hopeful for ASU to pull off the win.

Ever since their embarrassing loss to Maryland, the Sun Devils have slowly been improving their style of play and truly showed that when they upset Kentucky on the road. Though having gotten off to a slow start and UK pulling away with the lead in the first half, ASU showed up in the third quarter fighting. What put them above Kentucky was their aggressive rebounding and clutch shots from senior Sophie Brunner.

More from Devils in Detail

In their last win against Middle Tennessee State, the Devils were able to come out with a fast start and gain a strong lead. Freshman Robbi Ryan has continuously made a name for herself on the team as she finished out this game with a team-high 13 points along with 4 assists. The freshman of the team finished with a combined total of 28 points and 7 assists, trumping the seniors and shutting down doubts of the team not being successful because of the lack of upperclassmen.

A huge improvement for ASU came from being able to capitalize on turnovers from their opponents. They were able to convert 17 points from 18 turnovers by MTSU, and their defensive strengths made these turnovers possible. Senior Kelsey Moos is a huge asset to the team when it comes to defense and defensive rebounds.

To come away with the win today, ASU will need to start and finish off strong, and hopefully see some more consistency with their seniors instead of having the freshmen carry them through.
