The Arizona State women’s volleyball team only has three matches left in the conference season. With the season wrapping up quickly, the Sun Devils will need to play at their best tonight if they want to have a home win.

Last night the Sun Devils fell to Stanford again with a final match score of 0-3. Tonight the Sun Devils take on the Cal Golden Bears.

ASU played Cal earlier this season and won with a final match score of 3-1. This being one of ASU’s only wins this conference season, the Sun Devils will need to keep their errors low and their communication strong if they want to gain another win.

Overall the Sun Devils are neck and neck with the Bears when it comes to stats. The Sun Devils have an average of 12.3 kills per set. The Bears are a full kill ahead of ASU with an average of 13.3 kills per set.

More from Devils in Detail

ASU has managed to top Cal when it comes to the total number of kills within the conference season. So far, ASU has gained 1,332 kills throughout the entire season while Cal has only produced 1,301 kills.

ASU and Cal both have high error percentages. ASU holds a total of 646 errors while Cal has 609 errors. Both ASU and Cal struggle with errors so tonight’s game will definitely be a battle to see who can keep their errors the lowest.

Junior middle blocker, Oluoma Okaro, has been one of ASU’s top players this season. Her competition tonight will be junior outside hitter, Christie Alftin. Alftin holds an average of 2.98 kills per set and a 3.29 points per set. Okaro falls just behind Alftin, holding an average of 2.64 kills per set and 3.59 points per set.

This will be a close game for the Sun Devils. If they can keep their errors low and their eyes on the ball, ASU will have a chance to gain their first home win and a second win over Cal.
