ASU Volleyball: The Sun Devils Redeem Themselves Against Oregon State
The Arizona State women’s volleyball team redeemed themselves against the Oregon State Beavers. Now 2-9 in the conference season, the Sun Devils have a chance to gain another win against Oregon on Sunday.
The Sun Devils played a tight first set against Oregon State. During the first half of the set, ASU was neck and neck with the Beavers, but they fell short during the second half of the set with a final score of 25-14.
During the second set, both ASU and Oregon State contributed many of their points to service errors. ASU managed to keep Oregon State off balanced, and managed to come back strong with a final set score of 25-22.
ASU was on fire during the third set of the game. They managed to hold off Oregon State for the first four points of the set. The Sun Devils continued to play on top of their game during this set since they were able to keep the Beavers in the single digits for most of the set. ASU finished off the set with a score of 25-13.

The Sun Devils continued the strong performance of the third set in the fourth set. They managed to maintain a higher score over the Beavers by again limiting them to a minimal amount of points. Throughout the middle of the fourth set, the Beavers began to come back, yet ASU managed keep their game strong and finished off the set with a match score of 25-21.
Outside hitter, Jasmine Koonts, was ASU’s star player during the match. She had a total of 12 kills as well as an attacking percentage of .269. Right behind her was freshman, Ivana Jeremic. She had a total of 11 kills and an attacking percentage of .147.
Junior middle blocker, Oluoma Okaro, and senior outside hitter, Cassidy Pickrell had the highest attacking percentage during tonight’s match. Pickrell had an attacking percentage of .500 and Okaro had a percentage of .474.
The Sun Devils will be looking to take the second game of the Oregon road trip as they travel to Eugene to take on No. 10 Oregon this Sunday at 11 a.m.
