Every Sun Devils fan has one event in mind that officially ushers in a new season of ASU football, Camp Tontozona.

This annual event sees the football team traveling away from Tempe, into the Arizona mountains to begin their preseason practices.

Fans also make the trek up with the football team to not only watch the practices, but to immerse themselves in the beautiful landscape.

One popular option for fans to do is to visit the Tonto National Forest, which is located right next to Camp Tontozona.

Also close to Camp is Tonto Creek which serves as a nice water option for fans looking to cool down.

On the field, Coach Todd Graham will be looking to begin implementing his new offense under new Offensive Coordinator Chip Lindsey.

The biggest story by far is the quarterback competition that will officially begin after months of speculation on who the starter should be.

While a starter still won’t be named for about another month, fans can enjoy watching all the quarterbacks trying to out duel each other for the right to be named the starting quarterback.

On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Graham will be looking to get his new, young defensive core up to speed. Coach Graham will also be relying on Salamo Fiso to be the undisputed leader of the defense and help the younger players learn the defensive game plan as quick as possible.

Camp Tontozona is a great experience that every ASU football fan needs to experience. Not only is it a great time to meet fellow Sun Devil football fans, it also gives fans a taste of what to expect in the upcoming football season.
