As the 2016 football season draws closer, it is time to start thinking about how well ASU football will do in the upcoming season.

Once ASU makes it through the gauntlet of Cal, USC, and UCLA in their first three Pac-12 games they have a much easier road in front of them.

Their fourth in-conference game of the season is against Colorado, a very winnable game for the Sun Devils.

Colorado has been the weakest team in the Pac-12 since they joined back in 2011, and they have continuously struggled to be a competitive football program within the Pac-12.

ASU will go into this game having faced three tough opponents in the weeks prior and they will be looking at this Colorado game as a chance to flex their muscles and prove that they are one of the top team within the Pac-12 even if their record doesn’t reflect that.

More from Devils in Detail

After Colorado, the Sun Devils will be hosting Washington State, a team that surprised people last season with a 6-3 in-conference record.

Washington State is a team that is hard to gauge, they did have a good 2015 season but at the same time it was their best season since 2003. Additionally, the season after their 2003 campaign (2004) they were 3-5 in-conference.

This game will be a classic ASU game where they will win it, but they let the other team make a come back they shouldn’t have made.

Game 6 of ASU’s in-conference schedule is a game that everyone should have circled, the Sun Devils will be in Eugene, Oregon for the rematch of the season.

Last seasons triple-OT thriller could be considered the game of the year for not only the Pac-12, but for ASU fans as well even though it didn’t turn out in ASU’s favor.

Both teams will have a new quarterback under center and that could be the deciding factor in this game. Not very much separates these teams outside of the quarterback position and it will definitely be a fun game to watch.

Next: Will ASU Struggle Out of Conference?

Prediction: The Sun Devils should have no trouble with Colorado, and they should be able to grind out a win against Washington State. It ultimately comes down to the Oregon game. It will be another thriller for sure since these teams are so evenly matched, but don’t be surprised if Oregon comes out with the victory again.
