Looking ahead: Arizona State is bigger; now it’s time to get better

“Bigger is better. Size matters. Let’s go ahead and exhaust every cliché because, for Arizona State, they are all true. The Sun Devils were too small last season — too small to defend and ultimately too small to compete in the Pac 12. Reality hit in the form of conference play, when coach Bobby Hurley’s first season in charge skidded from a pleasant 11-6 start to a 15-17 finish.”
A very in-depth article to start out your Monday. This piece focuses on the glaring issue that ASU fixed from this last season to this season through recruiting, their size. The Sun Devils were in incredibly small team last season, and some of their loses came from a lack of size and not being able to have success in the paint.

“The Arizona State Sun Devils joined the NCAA Division I ranks last season, but their 2016-17 campaign will feature their first full slate of NCAA opponents. And just like last season, four of ASU’s home games will be played on the Arizona Coyotes’ home ice of Gila River Arena in Glendale.”
The four games that the hockey team played at Gila River Arena last season were a huge success. The fans were able to enjoy a NHL stadium for a fraction of the cost. Fans were also able to sit close to the ice and enjoy all the action up close. ASU Hockey always schedules their best games for Gila River Arena and this upcoming season is no different.

Packers-12: Arizona State Sun Devils to watch this fall
courtesy of: Dairyland Express
“In this year’s NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers selected four players out of the Pac-12 conference. Ted Thompson‘s first pick as the Packers general manager back in 2005, was Aaron Rodgers. A player out of the Pac-12. In the last four drafts 34 percent of the Packers picks have been from the Pac-12 conference.”
This article is a preview of possible selections for the 2017 draft. If the Packers were to select all of the players on this list then they might as well hire Todd Graham as head coach, and change their mascot to a Sun Devil!
