With the graduation of Jamal Miles and Rashad Ross, Morris enters a competitive race to earn the trust of quarterback Taylor Kelly in 2013.

Morris participated in the Arizona State prospect camp last summer and was able to see what the team is all about. He enjoyed his visit to Tempe (saying the ASU campus felt like a resort) and noted that coach Todd Graham and his staff, as well as the high level of Pac-12 competition, were factors in his decision to attend Arizona State.

Morris caught 29 passes for 529 yards with six touchdowns as a freshman in 2011. He had a long reception of 80 yards and averaged 18.2 yards per reception, leading Pierce in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Morris was listed as ESPN’s No. 61 overall junior college prospect in the country and the nation’s No. 16 junior college wide receiver recruit. He verbally committed to ASU on July 23, 2012.

Coach Graham said of Morris: “He is one of the most physical wide receivers in the country. We think he will be a very great fit with what we are doing.”
