Football Recruiting: WR Joe Morris Signs LOI With Arizona State
A product of Woodland Hills (Calif.) Pierce Community College, the 6-4 200-pound Morris originally committed to ASU in July 2012. He visited the Tempe campus in January 2013.
Morris participated in the Sun Devils’ prospect camp last summer and was able to see what the team is all about. He enjoyed his visit to Tempe (saying the ASU campus felt like a resort!) and noted that coach Todd Graham and his staff, as well as the high level of Pac-12 competition, were factors in his decision to attend Arizona State.
As a freshman wideout, Morris was a bright spot for the Pierce College Brahmas last season, hauling in 20 receptions for 451 yards and four touchdowns.
With its 62-26 defeat of the Navy Midshipmen in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, Arizona State closed last year’s football season on a successful note. Under the hand of first-year head coach Todd Graham, the Sun Devils achieved an 8-5 record, won their first bowl game since 2005, and most importantly, set the stage for further achievements in the coming years.
