Arizona State Men’s Ice Hockey travels to the northeast this weekend to start a four-game road stretch.

The Sun Devils get a break from playing a ranked opponent when they take on the New Hampshire Wildcats this Saturday.

New Hampshire has a 4-4-1 record this season. The Wildcats have played some tough opponents, including No. 3 Boston College, No. 18 St. Lawrence, and UMass.

The Wildcats are led by senior and captain Matias Cleland. He has nine points through nine games played.

Freshman forward Patrick Grasso has a team-high nine goals through nine games. His statistics make him one of the top-ranked freshmen in the country

Senior Tyler Kelleher has five goals and eight assists on the season. Kelleher ranks second nationally in career points and assists with the Wildcats.

The Sun Devils will be playing a ranked opponent once again against the No. 3 Boston College Eagles on Sunday. The Eagles currently have a 9-2-1 record.

Boston College ranks seventh in the nation, averaging 4.08 goals per game.

Senior forward Austin Cangelosi is the Eagles’ top scorer with eight goals and five assists on the season.

Boston College head coach Jerry York is college hockey’s all-time winningest coach with 1,021 wins. York has lead the Eagles to four NCAA titles (2001, 2008, 2010, 2012).

Despite the rough schedule, there have been some bright spots for Arizona State so far.

Graduate transfer Robbie Baillargeon has come in and proved his worth to the Sun Devil hockey team. He leads the team with six goals, and also has an assist in his seven games played

Freshman defenseman Brinson Pasichnuk has appeared in all nine games for the Sun Devils this season. The young blue-liner leads the team with 19 blocked shots. He has also generated offense with a team-high 26 shots on goal.

Forwards Louie Rowe and Brett Gruber, along with defenseman Nicholas Gushue, have played strong as well. One of the three usually starts the breakout for the Sun Devils. They can all carry the puck very well.

Arizona State is finding some rhythm in the three-man rotation in net. Freshman goaltender Joey Daccord has received a majority of the playing time this year. Senior netminder Robert Levin leads the team with a .881 save percentage.

The Sun Devils need to improve on the power play. Through nine games, they are just 5-for-57 with a man-advantage (less than 9%).

Both games can be viewed this weekend. New Hampshire will be streaming Saturday’s game here. Sunday’s game can be watched through Boston College here. Both game times are to be determined.
