The Sun Devils spent their second week of preseason practice at Camp Tontozona; a tradition Coach Graham has re-started since 2012. Over 5,000 fans showed up to support the team at Saturday’s scrimmage.   Here are some quick hits on the trip to Camp T:

-Coach Graham thinks this was the best trip yet to Camp T.

-WR Ellis Jefferson made the biggest play, catching a touchdown from QB Mike Bercovici.

-Coach Graham not happy after 7 flags including one personal-foul penalty against LB Antonio Longino.

-LB Carlos Mendoza is out 3-4 weeks with a knee injury and RB Kalen Ballage is sidelined indefinitely with a back injury.

-Players that shined this week include WR Cameron Smith, LB D.J. Calhoun, as well as Defensive Lineman Tashon Smallwood and Edmond Boateng.

-Last year’s standout Safety Marcus Ball was back on the field, after being sidelined last year with a shoulder injury.

-The second team offense struggled at times on Saturday with 2 fumbles and 1 interception thrown by QB Mike Bercovici.

-Defense looks fast and physical; Coach Graham says main focus going forward will be eliminating mental mistakes.

-Noticeable emphasis being put on improving special teams; K Zane Gonzalez hit several long field goals.

The next step for ASU will be implementing a game plan for their first game of the season against tough Division 1-AA opponent Weber State, Thursday August 28th at 7:30PM on the PAC-12 Network.
