ASU Baseball Earning National Respect

Don’t read too much in to the headline, Sun Devils fans, you still have a ways to go. In this weeks NCAA College Baseball rankings, the ASU Sun Devils inch their way closer and closer to cracking the top 25.

After some what of a confusing month of March, the Sun Devils seem to be heading in the right direction. For the first time in ASU Baseball’s history, the Sun Devils took back to back weekend series on the road against top 15 opponents.

On the weekend of March 21st, the Sun Devils went on the road to face the number 8 team in the country, the Oregon State Beavers. After a poor offensive showing in the first game, ASU regained its swagger and took two out of three games from them. After coming home and serving up a beat down Wednesday night against in state rival U of A, the Sun Devils once again took to the road to face the defending national champs, UCLA. Behind a solid showing by Junior RF Jake Peevyhouse, ASU managed to take two of three from the number 14 team in the nation.

So whats next for the Sun Devils?

After a couple of successful road trips in March, the Sun Devils begin an 8 game home-stand this Friday, starting with a 3 game series against USC.

Don’t forget this weekend the “Tip Your Cap” celebration continues at Packard Stadium. Saturday’s game against USC, fans salute ASU legend Jim Brock.
