“(Originally) I was never really considering ASU because I didn’t like the discipline going on,” Cox said. “Once Coach Graham got in here, it really changed my perspective and I was really looking forward to meeting with him. Once I did, I really bought into what he was pitching.”

Cox was named all-state and all-region as a sophomore at Blue Ridge High School with 86 tackles and eight sacks. He was an all-state linebacker as a junior, accounting for 61 tackles. Cox also rushed for 682 yards and scored 16 touchdowns playing on offense. He possesses a unique combination of size, speed and athleticism.

Cox’s prospects for the upcoming season at ASU were hampered during spring football. After his first full practice session in March, he suffered a right ankle injury. Cox also battled an ankle injury during his senior prep season. Sun Devil fans no doubt hope for the best with the fall practice schedule on the horizon.
