Football Recruiting: WR Jaelen Strong Signs LOI With Arizona State

Arizona State today signed three-star wide receiver Jaelen Strong as part of its 2013 recruiting class.

A product of Woodland Hills (Calif.) Pierce Community College, the 6-4 200-pound Strong originally committed to ASU in December 2012. He visited the Tempe campus in January 2013.

On DevilsDigest.com, Strong had commented, “No school has showed me more love than Arizona State. They have been around for so long. I came from nothing and I know that the ASU coaches can give me everything that I need in football and in academics. I checked each coach’s background there and I saw the type of men they were. I talked to players at Arizona State who told me that this would be a good fit for me.”

During his freshman season with the Pierce College Brahmas, Strong recorded 1,263 yards in 10 games scoring 15 touchdowns and averaging 18.9 yards a catch.

With its 62-26 defeat of the Navy Midshipmen in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, Arizona State closed last year’s football season on a successful note. Under the hand of first-year head coach Todd Graham, the Sun Devils achieved an 8-5 record, won their first bowl game since 2005, and most importantly, set the stage for further achievements in the coming years.
